.India's Davis Cup captain Leander Paes on Monday said that there is still some work needed to be done at the grass courts in DLTA before the Asia Oceania Group I tie against Uzbekistan begins on Friday.
.Paes, who visited the courts on Monday, said the grass on the under prepared court is too long and it has to be cut down.
."I saw the court today. The grass is too long. It needs to be cut down," Paes told reporters after the practice session of the Indian team at National Sports Club of India.
."Also the surface underneath at the DLTA is concrete and so it does not absorb water," he said. 5.Paes has ruled himself out of the tie due to an injury and said unless it becomes too important for him to play, he will be happy to play the role of non-playing captain.
.Rohan Bopanna said the practice was going on well and the team was looking forward to give their best.
."We had a good practice. We have not seen the court and we don't know how it will behave," he said.
.India's other singles players Prakash Amritraj missed Monday's practice session due to a bad stomach.
