Jacques Kallis along with AB de Villiers continued their on slaught from where they had stopped at stumps on day one. The pair of Kallis and de Villiers powered South Africa's innings as the visitors went past the 400-run mark on the second day of the on-going second Test at Ahmedabad. After lunch Kallis however is lucky to be still there at the crease after a Harbhajan Singh devliery hit the stumps but failed to take off the bails at 61. He eventually fell prey to the bowling of Sreesanth, who cleaned Kallis up,Indian bowlers who have struggled to get any breakthroughs on second day so far, face a tough challenge to get India back in the game at Motera.
All happening at the greentop in Motera yesterday (April 3), as the Indian batsmen lost their feet and timbered to a rampaging South African attack and followed another sub-100 score from a vaunted batting line-up. It was upto the Indian bowlers to restore some pride, by striking early on the second day's play in the Motera, Ahmedabad.Harbhajan is certainly looking to fightback and even though he has inflicted the maximum danger to the Proteas batting line-up picking up 3 wickets, the turbanator didn't mince any words about the pitch which dug the graveyard of Indian batsmen.Skipper Anil Kumble's request to shave the grass off the 22-yard strip was met with stiff resistance by the pitch curator and this left the mild-mannered captain quite agitated. South Africans have already buried the Indians and over the course of the Ahmedabad Test, Kumble and his men will hope to turn their words into action.
